Qualifications Can Cross Boundaries
The Irish awarding bodies and qualifications authorities and the UK awarding and qualifications regulatory bodies have undertaken an exercise to align/cross reference the qualifications frameworks in the UK and Ireland. The exercise was completed in June 2005 and the document, Qualifications can cross boundaries - a rough guide to comparing qualifications in the UK and Ireland was published. The leaflet is a ready reckoner for employers, learners and other interested parties, designed to enable broad comparisons to be drawn between qualifications and their levels In Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

National Approach to the Recognition of International Awards in Ireland

Institutes of Technology Central Evaluation Process for non standard CAO applicants
The Institutes of Technology have developed a central scoring system for applicants presenting school leaving qualifications other than the Irish Leaving Certificate and who may wish to enter higher education and training at an Irish Institute of Technology. National Action Plan for Recognition - December 2006
The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland led the work on the development of the National Action Plan for Recognition for Ireland. The National Action Plan will form part of the next National Report to the Ministerial meeting which will take place in London in June 2007. A steering group was formed to assist and advise the Authority in the development of the National Action Plan.

Annual Recognition Reports
The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland publishes an annual recognition report which summarises the recognition activities of the particular year.
